A large urology practice implemented a Germline testing program in their clinic and encountered challenges that were major impediments to the program.

Problem: Client came to us stating their challenges as:

⁍ The time it takes to evaluate possible germline candidates, between 10-20 mins per case, is too long.

⁍ Many false negatives and false positives come up despite best efforts, resulting in further waste of time.

⁍ It is not possible for the navigator to group cases like High Risk, Clinic bill, Lab bill, etc. without managing patients in XLS sheets, which adds to data accuracy issues and more navigator time is lost.

⁍ Communicating with Pts via phone is a significant barrier because of the proverbial "phone tag" issue.

⁍ The number of cases staff have to evaluate, to return a viable number of cases, is astronomical, and is simply not feasible for a full time employee to complete in an 8 hour shift.

Consequences of this problem:

⁍ Delayed testing especially for High Risk cancer cases.

⁍ Greatly reduced count of cases processed by the clinic's Germline program, a high impact, high revenue program.
